   our history

From Washington D.C. to our once-sleepy Kailua Kona town, Todd Lewis came with his family to fulfill a vision of providing technological support to the Kona campus of the University of the Nations.  His goal was simple:  to further the mission of the school by bringing about effective solutions to the University’s growing network needs.  In the year 2000, with this goal in mind, Akamai Information Management (AIM) was born.

Since that time, AIM has delivered architectural strategies, network security, web services, and daily task management to the University, resulting in the successful growth of the campus network from four servers and 250 computers & peripherals to 30 servers and 600 computers in an enterprise-class network.

The vision of AIM has also grown since its inception, extending its reach beyond the University to individuals, small businesses, and corporations alike, in providing both immediate and far-reaching solutions customized to each user’s needs.
